Kathrin, Luke and Dirk win Leica binoculars

The Leica binoculars Winter Promotion - which we organized together with Leica from November 2024 to April 2025 - again generated a huge response. More than thousand new areas were added to Birdingplaces. Thank you Leica and all participants! And please keep adding nice birding areas!

And the winners are...

The winner of the Leica Trinovid 10x25 BCA compact binoculars is Kathrin Voss from Germany. “I've been birdwatching for a long time and when I was preparing for a short vacation to the North Sea, I came across Birdingplaces by chance and the information was so helpful. Since then, I have used it for every trip and have already added places myself. I particularly like the fact that there are also lots of small places on the map. Everyone knows the large, protected nature reserves, but small places can also be great for birdwatching and photography. Opportunities for birding are everywhere. The new Leica binoculars are replacing my 40-year-old binoculars. Even though I'm mainly out and about with my camera, a small pair of binoculars always accompany me and the Leica Trinovid 10x25 BCA is ideal in terms of size and weight!”

The winner of the Leica Trinovid 10x42 HD binoculars is Luke Lambert from Ireland. “I recently began planning more wildlife orientated trips and I happened to stumble across Birdingplaces by chance when researching online. Since then, I have used the website for trips to southern Bavaria, east Austria and Berlin. The website is an excellent resource if you are targeting certain species in a country, looking for great birding areas that are accessible by public transport or places that are excellent for wildlife photography. Ireland is quite light with places on the platform, so I began adding places over the winter that I’ve enjoyed or frequented with the hope they can be helpful for others in or visiting Ireland too. The Leica Trinovid 10x42 HD binoculars are a step above my current binoculars, the difference in clarity and brightness was instantly noticeable! I’m looking forward to using these out in the field. Thank you Birdingplaces and Leica for this brilliant prize!”

The winner of the Leica Noctivid 10x42 binoculars is Dirk Eeuwes from The Netherlands. “A few years ago, I heard about Birdingplaces from other birders. I initially used it when traveling in summer. A little later I also started using Birdingplaces in The Netherlands. For me Birdingplaces has truly proven itself as a fantastic platform for uncovering beautiful nature areas and birds. This winter I realized that a lot of places I love were not on the platform, so I added them. Thereby I hope to contribute to birding adventures of others. Over the past 2 years I’ve been birding with a Leica Trinovid HD, that I really like. Now I am thrilled to own a Leica Noctivid, which offers even better performance and provides stunning views both nearby and over great distances. Thanks Birdingplaces and Leica for this incredible prize!”

We congratulate all winners on winning a pair of Leica top binoculars! If you didn't win yourself, you did help other birders by sharing your knowledge and describing great birding areas. We are very grateful for that. Thanks again everyone for participating!
