Description

Woodchester Park is a tranquil wooded valley with remains of an 18th and 19th-century landscape park and a chain of five lakes. There is a heronry at the easternmost lake. Also Wood Warbler, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, European Stonechat, Tawny Owl, Peregrine Falcon, Eurasian Siskin, Mandarin Duck, Common Kingfisher, egrets and woodpeckers. 132 species seen in all.

Access

You car park near Nympsfield village. By car, follow B4066 from Dursley or Stroud. From M5, take junction 13. Click on the P in the map for directions. Bus 65 runs hourly from Gloucester, Dursley or Stroud to Nympsfield. Nearest train station, Stroud.
