Description

Scottish Seabird Centre is located ideally for seawatching of nesting Atlantic Puffin on Craigleith Island, half a mile offshore, and Northern Gannet on the Bass Rock. Plus waders in autumn and seabirds in winter. Purple Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone, Razorbill, Common Guillemot, Little Auk, Red-throated Diver, Long-tailed Duck and skuas. Nearby, boat trips leave for the Bass Rock Northern Gannet colony and for seal and dolphin trips.

Access

The car park at the centre which fills quickly in summer, allow plenty of time to park. Click on the P in the map to gert directions. Link below has details of other car parks. Bus stop right by the quay.

Andra (2022-11-15)

Enjoyable small museum, mostley focussed on kids. Nice way to view the gannets on the island without disturbing them. Unfornunatly the coloney was hit pretty bad by the avian influenza when I visited. Hopefully they can recover!
