Description
The river estuary near Ruan Lanihorne is very good for wildfowl, waders, raptors and other waterbirds. Watch from Sett Bridge or the stone quay. Worth having scope as views can be distant at low tide. Birds you can observe include Common Shelduck, Eurasian Wigeon, Red Kite, Little Egret, European Golden Plover, Common Greenshank, Common Sandpiper, Eurasian Curlew, Whimbrel, Northern Lapwing, and Common Kingfisher. Excellent for Osprey in spring and autumn.

Ruan Lanihorne is located near Truro in Cornwall. Park on stone quay at P on the map or sensibly in pull-ins. The area is not accessible by public transport. Walk along road in either direction to view various marshy areas.
