Description

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is the highest canal aqueduct in the world providing excellent views over the River Dee that flows 127 feet below. Mandarin Duck, Goosander, Mallard, White-throated Dipper and other riparian species are expected. Whilst in the air around you corvids, raptors and hirundines fly playfully in the wind, e.g., Common Swift, Common Buzzard, Rook.

In the trees alongside the canal by which you walk, finches, tits and thrushed are abundant (Coal Tit, Common Chiffchaff, Common Chaffinch, Eurasian Wren, etc.).
