Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (Pied Flycatcher Common Redstart), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as Black Grouse, Common Sandpiper and White-throated Dipper. Among the other birds you can encounter are Ring Ouzel, Grey Wagtail, Eurasian Siskin and Eurasian Skylark.
