46 hectares of flower meadows, dykes and small wood forming River Lugg floodplain. A Herefordshire Wildlife Trust reserve. Riverside picnic beaches.
In Lugg Meadows in spring and summer there are European Stonechat, Western Yellow Wagtail and White Wagtail, Common Kingfisher and Eurasian Skylark. In autumn and winter this flat area may flood, attracting large numbers of wildfowl, gulls, egrets and waders.
From Hereford take the A438 Ledbury road. Two miles from city centre, turn left opposite a large pub and park up. The reserve entrance is on your left.
Floodplain area continues south of A438 and is mostly common land. Footpath access from Tidnor or Hampton Bishop.
