Local nature reserve between fast flowing upper reaches of the river Severn and disused railway line. Woods, farmland, shingle and open water.
At Llandinam Gravels upland birds can be seen such as White-throated Dipper, Grey Wagtail, Ring Ouzel, Red Grouse, European Stonechat, Northern Wheatear, European Golden Plover and Eurasian Curlew. Exposed shingle banks encourage Little Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper and Eurasian Oystercatcher to breed.
Take a minor road south from Caersws, which is between Machynlleth and Montgomery. Postcode SY17 5AU. On entering the reserve, car park is at far end of derelict railway track.
