These are two linked reservoirs built to feed the local canal system. They lie in a steep-sided, wooded valley that is part of the Greenway Bank Country Park.
Knypersley Reservoir is a nice place for birding. The woodland has a rich birdlife, and the birds are habituated to human presence. The open water also has some waterfowl. Overall, this is an attractive area for a walk and the birding is close by the paths. Nice birds you can see here are Marsh Tit, Eurasian Treecreeper, Eurasian Nuthatch and Goosander.
There are two car parks and a visitor centre off Greenway Bank , which also passes across the dam. The footpaths are surfaced but some are steep. The postcode is ST8 7QX. The route you see on the map is about 5 km.
The car parks are open from 9am until dusk and the Visitor Centre is currently open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 2pm until 4pm all year round, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
