Description

Brascote GP is an old gravel workings with two settling pool and a fishing lake. A footpath runs through the site with sallows on both sides of the path Bearded Tit, Cetti's Warbler, Eurasian Wryneck and Yellow-browed Warbler have been found along this path. Lots of water birds are found on the lagoons and the hedge rows are also worth checking out. Among the birds you can encounter here are Greylag Goose, Canada Goose, Mute Swan, Garganey, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Eurasian Wigeon, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Common Shelduck, Common Teal ,Common Pheasant, Little Grebe ,Great Crested Grebe, Stock Dove ,Common Wood Pigeon, Common Swift ,Water Rail, Eurasian Moorhen ,Eurasian Coot, Eurasian Oystercatcher ,Northern Lapwing, Little Ringed Plover ,Jack Snipe, Common Snipe ,Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper ,European Herring Gull, Yellow-legged Gull ,Lesser Black-backed Gull, Black-headed Gull ,Common Tern, Great Cormorant, Great Egret, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Sparrowhawk, Red Kite, Common Buzzard, Tawny Owl, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Kestrel, Eurasian Hobby, Eurasian Jay, Magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Rook, Common Raven, Coal Tit, Eurasian Blue Tit, Great Tit, Eurasian Skylark, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Sand Martin, Barn Swallow, House Martin, Yellow-browed Warbler, Willow Warbler, Common Chiffchaff, Long-tailed Tit, Blackcap, Lesser Whitethroat, Greater Whitethroat, Goldcrest, Eurasian Nuthatch, Eurasian Treecreeper, Wren, Common Starling, Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush, Redwing, Blackbird, Fieldfare, Ring Ouzel, European Robin, Common Redstart, European Stonechat, Northern Wheatear, Dunnock, House Sparrow, Grey Wagtail, Western Yellow Wagtail, White Wagtail, Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Common Chaffinch, Brambling, Eurasian Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Linnet, Lesser Redpoll, European Goldfinch, Eurasian Siskin, Yellowhammer and Reed Bunting.

You can park on Brascote lane on the corner of the northern pit cross the road to a kissing gate and follow the footpath.
