Chwaka Bay in Zanzibar is home of resident and migratory birds spices and highly protected by the government of Zanzibar.
The area has both ecosystem aquatic and terestrial. It means both marine and inland birds spices are found. The area easily reacheable and the environment favor to see many species of birds and highly protected by the government with colaboration for local community under the ambralla of Jozani Enveronmental Conservation Association (JECA). It is non governmental organization that support nature conservation through community empowerment.
You can reach there by walking via Jozani National Park or by car through Chwaka Village but it depend the tidal because the area has aquatic and terristrial ecosystem. Birds you can see are Helmeted Guineafowl, White-faced Whistling Duck and Greater Flamingo.
