Description
The mouth of the Thiène / Zihl Canal into Lake Neuchâtel offers plenty to see. You can walk out onto one of the two stone dams and enjoy a view of nearly the entire lake. A breeding float for Common Tern is located to the left, in front of the reeds. During migration season, it's a great place to look for rare birds in the early morning, especially waders and terns. Species such as Gull-billed Tern or Red Knot have been seen at this location. In winter, guests like Red-breasted Merganser and Velvet Scoter may be observed at large.
