Small lake surrounded by reeds close to the big Lake Zurich.
The Ausee is a small lake at the western end of the Au Peninsula and located at an altitude of 405 meters above sea level. The Ausee is fed by a canal from Lake Zurich. The artificial lake is about 350m long and almost 150m wide. As the lake is surrounded by reeds, this attracts various bird species. There is a circular route around the lake which takes about half an hour at walking pace.
The Ausee and the Au peninsula can be easily reached from Zurich by public transport. Au railway station is located directly opposite the lake.
