Description
The Alpnacherried at Alpnachstad is characterized by various pond-like areas that are easy to observe. Some of them have shallow access points, which is interesting for photographers. In addition to a large colony of geese, there are various species of native songbirds.
Breeding birds include Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Grey Heron, Black Kite, Greylag Goose, Marsh Warbler, Great Reed Warbler, White-throated Dipper, Water Rail, Savi's Warbler, and Reed Bunting. Regular guests during migration period are Great Bittern, Red-footed Falcon, Little Ringed Plover, Western Marsh Harrier, Common Snipe, Green Sandpiper, Common Sandpiper, and European Stonechat .
During winter, Tufted Duck, Common Pochard, and Common Gull can be expected.
