Large bog areas, marshes and surrounding edge forests between Älmhult en Växjö. Open landscape and in spring you have a very good chance to see Black Grouse.
Taglamyren Nature Reserve is large, open and has not been destroyed by peat mining or extensive trenching. Taglamyrene is valuable for bird life. European Golden Plover breeds in the area and you can see birds of prey like Western Marsh Harrier, Eurasian Hobby, Red Kite and Peregrine Falcon. In early spring mornings you can see the Black Grouse courting. From the reserve's parking lot there is a path to a bird tower, from which you have a view of the western part of the marsh and you can see the Black Grouse play.
A short walk from the parking lot to the bird observation tower, it can be soggy, but there are planks to get to the tower. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking.
To see the Black Grouse, you have to be there very early, around sunrise. Sometimes there are more than 20 males competing for the ladies.
