Description

Storlien is a small mountain village in the far west of Sweden, right up against the Norwegian border in Jämtland County. Storliens Fågelskyddsområde is a mountainous area with bogs and ponds. There are a couple of hides overlooking ponds. Birds you can observe include Bluethroat, Red-throated Diver, Eurasian Wigeon, Greater Scaup, Ruff, Whimbrel and Common Goldeneye.

Access

Storliens Fågelskyddsområde is located in Storlien, near the Norwegian border in Jämtland County. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot in Storlien. Public transport: Storlien has a train station (1). From the parking or train station walk through the campsite to reach the reserve. From May 1st to July 31st, you are only allowed to walk on marked trails.
