A part of the Fyris river that is popular amongst waders and waterfowl. You have a good overview of the area from an observation tower.
This area of Övre Föret contains a larger body of water directly attached to the Fyris river. Adjacent there are wetlands and reedbeds. This area can easily be observed from a bird tower. A wide variety of waders like Northern Lapwing and Wood Sandpiper as well as waterfowl like Common Goldeneye and Mute Swan like to spend time here.
Many spring and autumn migrating birds rest here during their voyage. Species like Lesser White-fronted Goose and Greater White-fronted Goose can be found along the shore. With a spotting scope it is also possible to see many species of birds of prey flying over the horizon.
By bike one cycles south from the ciry of Uppsala along the Fyris river until you stumble upon the birdtower on your left hand side. By car one can come from Boländerna or from SLU. There is a small parking lot.
