Description
The final part of Nyköpingsån river flows through the city of Nyköping. Along the river there is a very good walking path on both sides. Mostly functionally adapted. The best time to visit is during autumn, winter and spring. In the part from the harbor basin and upstream to Korsbron, there is no ice for the most part in winter and can Goosander, Tufted Duck and Common Goldeneye be observed. On the river's edge Grey Heron are often standing. At the rapids you can find White-throated Dipper and Common Kingfisher. On the stretch from Folkunga Bridge to Storhusfallet, there is also a point for White-throated Dipper, Common Kingfisher and Grey Wagtail. From Storhusfallet to Stadsbron are mostly Mallard, Tufted Duck and Common Goldeneye. In the spring, the harbor basin is one of the places where the first Black-headed Gull, Common Tern and other gulls and terns appear.
