Description
The Lillfjärden lake is primarily known for its geese. Barnacle Goose, Greylag Goose, and Canada Goose all breed. The lake also holds the entire swedish non-breeding population of Lesser White-fronted Goose. Other geese like Greater White-fronted Goose, Taiga Bean Goose, Pink-footed Goose can often be found. Some years Tundra Bean Goose and Brent Goose are also found during migration periods.
The lakes rocky coast is also often home to waders like Spotted Redshank, Common Redshank, Little Ringed Plover (breeds), Eurasian Oystercatcher (breeds), and Ruff. The lake holds large amounts of Mallard and smaller amounts of other dabbling ducks. Even species which are rare in northern areas like Gadwall, Northern Shoveler and Garganey. Smaller amounts of diving ducks can often be found. Wintering Bohemian Waxwing and Pine Grosbeak are often found. Although the numbers vary widely.

Access
The lake lies directly north to the center of Hudiksvall. There are many places to park the car. Click on the P in the map to get directions. You can make a circular walk around the lake (2,5 km).
