Lake Lagårdssjön in Strömsholm is ranked as one of the best birding sites in Västmanland. From a nice platform (that is handicapped accessible) you have a good view over the wetland. Especially in the spring, the lake is well visited by ducks, geese and waders. A spotting scope is a must. Among the birds you can encounter are Wood Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, White-tailed Eagle, Greylag Goose, Northern Shoveler, Black Tern, Common Crane, Eurasian Hobby, Common Snipe, Osprey and many more, see the birdlist below.
