Description
Klintängarna och Limor Träsk have areas with alternate open ground and deciduous forest. Best is to start up on the cliff edge. From here, the wide view provides excellent conditions for bird of prey watching, which usually gives the best yield during spring and autumn. You also have a nice overview of the bog of Limmor Träsk where Western Marsh Harrier and Common Crane can be seen. The southern parts of Klintängarna are dominated by hazel and birch. North of the deciduous forest, it is changed in hay meadows and sheep grazed areas. Klintängarna is known for Nutcracker, which are otherwise a difficult species to find on Gotland. Among the other birds you can see in the area are Great Bittern, Corn Crake, Montagu's Harrier, Common Rosefinch and Red-backed Shrike.
