An old dock that was constructed wrongly and was eventually abandoned. The placement of the dock raised the sand banks and is nowadays overgrown by vegetation.
From the birdtower at Beijershamn and the path going along the beach you will have an amazing view over the vast sand banks and islands in the bay. This is a great location for observing nesting and migrating birds, especially waders and shore birds. This bay hosts a variety of species year round like Common Shelduck, Avocet, White-tailed Eagle and Little Stint. Note: During spring, summer and autumn it is forbidden to leave the trail in order to protect the eggs, chicks and migrating birds in the area.
From Färjestaden it is only 7 kilometers by car, bike or bus. There are designated parking spots which lie close to the birdtower. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
