Surrounded by mountains and hills this little village is a nice place for watching farmland birds and birds of prey.
The village of Taganana lies on the northeast coast of the island of Tenerife inside Anaga Country Park. The village is surrounded by rock walls and farm terraces with vineyards, vegetables and fruit groves. Very good place to observe Barbary Partridge. Other birds you can encounter are Canary Islands Chiffchaff, Canary, Blackcap, Sardinian Warbler, Plain Swift, African Blue Tit, Common Buzzard and Eurasian Kestrel.
Taganana is an isolated village located on the northeast coast of Tenerife where you have to drive a winding road to get there. You can park along the main road that passes the village. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is only 2 km and runs over a paved road in and around the village (note that it has some very steep parts). But it is easy to extend your walk because the village is surrounded by many paths leading through the fields around the village.
