Description
Laguna Juncosa can sometimes dry up completely in summer, but in winter and after a wet spring it can be superb for birding. Among the birds you can encounter here are Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Collared Pratincole, Common Sandpiper, Common Ringed Plover, Common Waxbill, Crested Lark, Avocet, Black-eared Wheatear, Greater Flamingo, Little Egret, Glossy Ibis, Black-winged Stilt, White-headed Duck, Red-crested Pochard, Black-necked Grebe and when you are lucky Marbled Teal or Red-knobbed Coot.

Easiest to drive from El Puerto de Santa Maria north. The roads are private but most locals just use them. Alternative is to cycle. But that is a a bit far to go. Note that this lagoon can dry up in summer.
