Description

Isla de Los Monos is located in the heart of Badajoz. It is an island with many lakes and marshes in the Guadiana river. It is full of life. It is full of birds. You can see more than 6 heron species (Little Bittern, Black-crowned Night Heron, Purple Heron, Squacco Heron, Little Egret, Grey Heron and Cattle Egret) and other nice birds like Glossy Ibis, Eurasian Spoonbill, Black-winged Stilt, Purple Swamphen and Penduline Tit.

You can park in Badajoz, on the map where the walk starts. A circular walk around the island Isla de Los Monos is about 4 km long, but you can extend your walk for kilometers along the river (see the map).
