Bird migration viewpoint with fantastic views over the surrounding valleys and plains..
The birdwatching observatory of Fuente Agria is a mandatory stop from February to May when birds of prey and storksmigrate through to the Castilian plateau. It is also an excellent viewpoint to look over other natural protected areas such as the Sierras Subbéticas, Sierra Sur de Jaén and even Cazorla. You may get to see a good selection of species of Iberian birds of prey, as well as a great number of smaller small birds like the passerines. The area is also good for butterflies and insects. Among the birds that can be seen are Golden Eagle, Spanish Eagle, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Booted Eagle, Bonelli's Eagle, Red Kite, Black Kite, Western Marsh Harrier, Eurasian Kestrel, Egyptian Vulture, Eurasian Black Vulture and Griffon Vulture. See the extended birdlist below.
