Rocky headland with a lighthouse. Nice for a stop if you are in the area. Good for Barbary Partridge and Berthelot's Pipit. Also good for seabirds.
The Faro de Punta Abona is a lighthouse on the south-eastern coast of Tenerife. The lighthouse is located on the rocky headland of Punta Abona. On the cliffs of black lava you can view the surroundings well and look far out over the sea. Among the birds you can observe are Cory's Shearwater, Yellow-legged Gull, Berthelot's Pipit, Great Grey Shrike, Whimbrel, Dunlin, Plain Swift and Barbary Partridge.
The Faro de Punta Abona is located on the south-eastern coast of Tenerife between Abades and Poris de Abona. The last part of the road to the lighthouse is on a narrow dirt road. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can walk along the cliffs on both sides of the lighthouse.
