Description
The coastal salt pans at El Pinet, which are at the southern end of the Santa Pola Salinas are a good for birdwatching. Is a bit off the usual beat but development nearby may change that.
Crossing the wooden boardwalks through the pine covered sand dunes you can go to raised platforms hides which strategical overlook the salt pans.
Birds you can see here are Greater Flamingo, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Kentish Plover, Iberian Grey Shrike, Greater Short-toed Lark, Audouin's Gull, Collared Pratincole and Little Tern.

Car park at one end with board walk part sand through dunes. Walking on sand can be tiring.
