The charca (dam) of Suarez consists of several water areas well equipped with hides.
The area is a remnant of the growing of sugar canes. It is easily accessed, although it is not open to the public at all times. Usually it is open 2hours daily on weekdays and twice in holidays. A check at the homepage is advised prior to a visit. During the breeding season it may be necessary to be accompanied by a guide. Several well kept hides are available. These give excellent photo opportunities. Common interesting species to be seen are Red-knobbed Coot, Purple Swamphen, Little Bittern, Common Kingfisher and in winter Bluethroat.

Continue until a camping sign. Turn right here and the turn right again to Camino del Pelaillo. The charca is on your right a few blocks, after the hotel Elba.
