It is a nice wintering spot for birds. Marine birds like Common Scoter, Red-throated Diver, Black-necked Grebe, Ruddy Turnstone and Purple Sandpiper seek shelter in the harbour when conditions on open sea are bad. Big ships can also attract seabirds.
