Description
Hraške Mlake are two ponds surrounded with reeds and trees. The wetland is located in an area of small villages in an agricultural landscape of open fields. At Hraške Mlake you can usually see Great Crested Grebe, Mute Swan, Little Grebe, Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Moorhen, Reed Warbler, sometimes Black-crowned Night Heron and Wood Sandpiper. Other birds that can be spotted depending on the season are Common Cuckoo, Garganey, Common Teal, Goosander, Great Egret, Marsh Tit, Black Redstart and Blackcap.

Hraške Mlake is located 15 km north of Ljubljana. Bus connections are available from Ljubljana to the village of Hraše. From the village you can easily walk to the wetland. When you have your own transport you can park right by the pond. Click on the P in the map for directions.
