If you are in the Strkovecké Jazera area it is a very nice place to see a lot of birds in a relatively small area. If you look over the lake in the springtime, you will see waterbirds such as Northern Shoveler, Tufted Duck and Great Crested Grebe. Also gulls are present like European Herring Gull, Caspian Gull and Black-headed Gull even have a small colony on the small islands in the lake together with Common Tern. Last but not least there are herons present like Black-crowned Night Heron. In the green bushed areas around the lake you will see and hear lots of songbirds like Common Nightingale, Willow Warbler, Pied Flycatcher, Penduline Tit, Common Cuckoo and many more. Also some raptors can be seen such as Eurasian Kestrel that breed in nestboxes present and Western Marsh Harrier. The river banks of the Vah river are a nice quiet place and you'll probably see Common Pochard and Common Kingfisher.

Access
It is easily accessible both by bicycle and car and the location happens to be next to a parking place/ gas station of the highway. It is also possible to drive your car to the edge of the lake, which could be convenient for people in wheelchairs, who may not be able to trail around the lake but can use a fixed location at the edge of the lake and use a telescope. There are two or three trails on the north side of the lake. You may want to explore them all, as there are so many birds present, at least in the springtime. Also take a peek at the Vah river. A beautiful fast flowing river and the river banks are a nice place to take a break. The circular walk has a length of about 3,5 km.
