The ponds are surrounded by reed beds, coniferous forests on sand dunes and open grassland with scattered shrubs. Commonly seen species include White-tailed Eagle, Osprey, Eurasian Kestrel and Great Egret. A wide path runs along both ponds with a good view of the water. You can take a circular walk of approximately 3 km around the western pond, visiting all the biotopes.
