Description
Labudovo Okno is the place where the agricultural plain of Deliblato meets the Danube river near the Romanian - Serbian border. Because of the building of Djerdap Dam, Danube has flooded surrounding Stevan’s Plains (Serbian: Stevanove ravnice) and made perfect habitat for gathering of birds. Here you can see all kinds of waterfowl species, mainly at winter time. Common Pochard, Tufted Duck, Common Goldeneye, Greater Scaup and Slavonian Grebe are regular species that gather at winter time. There are also quite many geese that gather here, mainly Greylag Goose and Greater White-fronted Goose.
During spring migration there are few species of gulls and terns, some other birds like Eurasian Hoopoe, White-tailed Eagle, Eurasian Coot, Mallard and Northern Pintail. During fall migration there are many small birds migrating through here, species like Grey-headed Wagtail (thunbergi), Icterine Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher. Also there are migrating raptors like Osprey and European Honey-buzzard.
