Swan Lake is a place of mass wintering of Whooper Swan and other waterfowl. This is a unique phenomenon for Siberia.
You can observe waterfowl in the reserve from November to the end of March in the entourage of the Siberian winter, sometimes it is at a temperature of minus forty degrees and below. The main mass of birds is a Whooper Swan and Mallard. But you can also see Common Goldeneye, Goosander, in small numbers there are Mute Swan and Tundra Swan. Numerous White-throated Dipper feed along the banks of ice-free streams. Here you can see Long-tailed Rosefinches, Azure Tit, Ural Owl, Grey Bullfinch and other Siberian birds.
There is an air service from Moscow to Barnaul, then the best option is a taxi. You can rent a car (from Barnaul to the reserve is 220 km). There are hotels near the reserve.
