Description
Vale Carapito is a valley that contains natural values characteristic of the territory. The riverside gallery of Ash trees runs through meadows where some cattle and Roe Deer still graze. The slopes are covered with Pyrenean Oak woods. Along the way, countless species of birds can be seen. Dragonflies and Mediterranean terrapins take refuge in the aquatic corridor and various species of butterflies hover over the flowering meadows. Among the birds you can encounter are Griffon Vulture, Black Vulture, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Booted Eagle, Red Kite, European Honey-buzzard, Red-rumped Swallow, Crag Martin, European Bee-eater, Golden Oriole, Sardinian Warbler, Subalpine Warbler, Woodchat Shrike, Iberian Magpie, Spotless Starling, White-throated Dipper and Eurasian Nuthatch.

You can leave your car at the main square of Vilar Maior (Sabugal). And then follow the narrow road that goes Northwest to Badamalos. About 500m further, you should take the unpaved rural way on the right, that goes up.
