Urban seafront with salt marsh and mudflats visible at low tide.
The mud flats are observable during low tide, with sometimes high densities of wading birds, especially during migration and in winter. The resting colony of Eurasian Spoonbill can be seen from the pier.
Easily accessible on foot from Doca de Faro (boat harbour), Faro train station or Old town via crossing the rail line. Can be accessed by car driving from Forum Algarve and taking the right exit at roundabout near Municipal Theater, then crossing the rail line and turning left.
