Description

Foz do Cávado is a pool complex situated in the estuary of the river Cávado. Despite the small dimensions and its location in a densely urbanized environment this is a good place for birdwatching. During the winter, several species from northern Europe are present in the Cávado estuary. But also during migration many birds can be seen here. Among the birds you can see are Ruddy Shelduck, European Serin, Red-rumped Swallow, Common Greenshank, Common Kingfisher, Zitting Cisticola, Common Ringed Plover and Osprey.
