Description
The Divor reservoir and its surroundings are great for bird watching. Much of the area is underexplored. The main observation point on the north side is the dam, which allows observing the waters of the reservoir. But as this dam is quite busy with sportsmen and fishermen, the disturbance can be high, so the number of birds present is not always high. So it is also good to explore the other side of the reservoir. On the lake and around the margins you can see ducks, grebes, Greater Flamingo, herons and waders lake Common Sandpiper and Common Greenshank.
In the surrounding areas many birds can be seen. For example Cirl Bunting, Corn Bunting, Great Spotted Cuckoo, European Bee-eater, Eurasian Hoopoe, Iberian Grey Shrike, Thekla's Lark, Crested Lark, Eurasian Skylark, Zitting Cisticola, Melodious Warbler and Sardinian Warbler. Also many birds of prey can be seen flying over the area. In summer you have a good chance on Black Kite, Booted Eagle and Griffon Vulture. In winter Hen Harrier, Red Kite and Black-winged Kite. All year round you can see Common Buzzard, Western Marsh Harrier and Eurasian Kestrel. Montagu's Harrier can bee seen mostly in August.
