Description
During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe and Red-necked Grebe. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Northern Pintail, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Garganey and Common Teal, and sometimes others. Common Kingfisher can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Bearded Tit, Great Reed Warbler, Penduline Tit, Reed Warbler and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as White-tailed Eagle, Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Eurasian Goshawk. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Common Greenshank, Wood Sandpiper, Common Snipe, Ruff, Green Sandpiper and Common Sandpiper being the most common ones.

Access
One small parking spot behind the bridge on the river. Click on the P in the map for directions. Don't wander of the paths as it's a privately owned area. The area can only be visited on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 5 km.
