Description
Łazienki Park is spacious and full of life. Best to visit in the morning when people are not there yet. Note that it's open from 6 am. Two pairs of Tawny Owl can be heard at night. If you ask a local birder they will be happy to show you where they spend their day. Mandarin Duck, Goosander and Mallard nest in the park. A pair of Common Raven breed here every year as well.
The park is known for the many woodpecker species that can be seen here. It's difficult not to see Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Middle Spotted Woodpecker on your visit. If you have a bit more luck you might see Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker or a Syrian Woodpecker. Various songbirds breed here, Eurasian Nuthatch is very common. In May and June you might spot a Pied Flycatcher or Spotted Flycatcher in the part of the park where horses used to be held.
