Description
Jezioro Wilanowskie (Lake Wilanowskie) is part of the Wilanów palace and park complex, constituting a water link between the Wilanów Garden and the Morysin Nature reserve. The lake is a former water course of the river Vistula. On the eastern side, the shore is more natural. The lake is surrounded by trees, reeds and mostly overgrown with water lilies. Both the lake and park are good places for birding.
Among the birds you can see in the park are Middle Spotted Woodpecker and 4 other species of woodpecker, and also birds like Eurasian Nuthatch, Spotted Flycatcher, Tawny Owl, Hawfinch, Eurasian Bullfinch and more. Along the lake you can see Mute Swan, Common Kingfisher, Mandarin Duck, Goosander, Little Grebe, Little Bittern, Great Reed Warbler, Golden Oriole and sometimes Spotted Crake. See the birdlist below.
