Description

At Leksdalsvatnet an island had been created in the lake so that the birds can nest. Northern Lapwing, Ruff and Reed Bunting are some of the common birds that can be observed. From the fugletårn (bird observation tower) you have a good view over the area.

Access

Leksdalvatnet is located south of the town of Steinkjer and northeast of the town of Verdalsøra, about 6 kilometres east of the Trondheimsfjord. You can park your car close to the bird observation tower. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking it is just a 1 minute walk to the tower. The parking spot is close to the road, and contains an infosign that describes the area.
