Lågen River Delta Nature Reserve is one of Norway’s largest inland deltas. More than 220 different bird species have been seen here.
Lågendeltaet Naturreservat is an inland delta and a very important migration location. Large and varied with shallow water area, islands, canals, beach meadows, swamp and arable land. In the spring, when the water is low, many waders, ducks and other migrating species rest in this delta. Among the birds you can see here are Black-throated Diver (sometimes in groups), Osprey, Garganey, Little Ringed Plover, White-tailed Eagle and Common Goldeneye.
Easy to reach from Lillehammer. Many paths or roads encircle the area. There is a birdwatching tower (best light in the morning) and some other good observation points.
