The Yperenplas (also called Wilpse Plas) is an easy accessible birding place near the city of Deventer. It offers a wide view on the typical IJssel valley, with a good chance of special species on the lake and in the surroundings. Among the birds you can see here are Greylag Goose, Osprey, Northern Wheatear, Common Gull, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall, Eurasian Wigeon, Eurasian Spoonbill, Black-headed Gull, Barnacle Goose and Eurasian Kestrel. Rarities that have been seen here are Ferruginous Duck, Red-throated Diver and Black-winged Stilt.
