City park along the river Vardar in Skopje. A must-visit place for a birder in this city.
Gradski Park was built by the Ottoman Turks at the beginning of the 20th century. Today the park covers an area of 50 hectares, extending along the course of the river Vardar. The park has several small lakes, lawns and many old trees. Gradski Park offers standard European park bird species, so is is worth visiting if you are in the city.
Gradski Park is located between the city center of Skopje and Karposh municipality, at a 15-minute walk to the City Square, following the Vardar River. Access is by the Vardar kej pedestrian street or by car from the other side of the park. Click on the P in the map for directions.
