Large forest of 7,400 hectares in the province of Palermo with small streams and lakes. The presence of all these different habitats attracts many birds.
Bosco Della Ficuzza is a beautiful and bird rich forest. You can see many birds of prey such as Black Kite, Golden Eagle, Red Kite, Peregrine Falcon, Common Buzzard and also Egyptian Vulture, Tawny Owl and Eagle Owl. There are large numbers of passerines and different species of tits and finches. Some of the more common birds that you can encounter are Eurasian Jay, Hooded Crow, Common Raven, Long-tailed Tit, Blackcap, Firecrest, Red-legged Partridge and Common Wood Pigeon. Also Cirl Bunting can be seen.
