Hamaapil Fish Ponds is a complex of small and larger fish ponds separated by dams. The ponds attract a huge amount of different bird species. Birds that you can encounter are Osprey, White-throated Kingfisher, Garganey, European Turtle Dove, Laughing Dove, Great Spotted Cuckoo, Black-winged Stilt, Spur-winged Lapwing, Common Ringed Plover, Ruff, Little Stint, Marsh Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank, Wood Sandpiper, Collared Pratincole and Whiskered Tern. Also Greater Painted-snipe has been observed here. But many more, see the birdlist below.
