Description
Langness has good seawatch viewpoints north and south. The east coast is rocky and good for Red-billed Chough, Ring Ouzel, Short-eared Owl, Barn Owl and European Stonechat. The west coast has exposed mud and seaweed-strewn rock at low tide frequented by herons, egrets, Eurasian Oystercatcher, Common Shelduck, Purple Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone and Eurasian Curlew. Rarities seen here include Calandra Lark, White-rumped Sandpiper and European Turtle Dove.

Access
Isle of Man can be visited by ferry from Liverpoool, Heysham, Belfast or Dublin, or by air from several airports. Car park at Derbyhaven which is on a regular bus route, then short walk across to Langness. Or park on the island near the lighthouse. Be aware there is a golf course; dont obstruct play or become an accidental target.
