Description

Tounelet Forest is a small birding site located at a slope in the town of Sonder. Birding can be done along the roadside or from a birding homestay at the slope of Tounelet Forest. Birds that can be observed include Black-naped Oriole, Pale Blue Monarch, Yellow-sided Flowerpecker, Gray-sided Flowerpecker, Sahul Sunbird, Sulawesi Hanging Parrot, Chestnut Munia, Cattle Egret, Sooty-headed Bulbul, Barred Rail, Grey-cheeked Green Pigeon and Slender-billed Crow.

Access

From Manado city, take a public transportation to Tomohon town and then continue to Sonder town. The trip could be taken by Grab Car, Gocar, or Indrive. Stop in front of the slope near Siloam Hospital. Click on the P in the map for directions. There is a birding guide near the forest. Ask for Charles Roring.
